Buying your ticket in-person for your NJ Transit bus at Port Authority Bus Terminal can be done quickly at one of the 28 ticket vending machines inside the station or at the ticket office!

1. Locate a ticket machine: Find a ticket vending machine from one of the following locations:

   
   

   • Customer Service Center across from Ticket Office

   • North Entrance - 1st Floor

   • North Wing - 2nd Floor (adjacent to Hallmark)

   • South Wing - 2nd Floor (next to Gate 200/ATMs)

   • South Wing - 2nd Floor (next to Gate 211/210)

   • South Wing - 2nd Floor (next to Gate 232)

   • North Wing - 3rd Floor (next to Platform 322/324)

   • South Wing - 4th Floor (next to Gate 401)

   • South Wing - 4th Floor (next to Bowling Alley/Gate 401)

     
     

2. Language Selection: Upon reaching the machine, select your preferred language to proceed with the ticket purchase.

3. Route/Bus Selection: Choose your route by selecting your bus number.

4. Destination/Zone Selection: Select your travel destination as "To/From New York" and then choose your zone based on your destination.

5. Ticket Selection: Select the type of ticket you want.

6. Payment: Select your payment type from various methods like cash or debit/credit card, and confirm the purchase to get your ticket.

📍 Location: Port Authority Bus Terminal - 1st Floor (41st Street & 8th Avenue)
⏱ Hours: 6:00 AM - 12:30 AM, Monday to Sunday

To purchase a ticket in-person at a ticket office, head over to the Port Authority Bus Terminal station located at 41st Street & 8th Avenue, on the 1st floor. The hours are 6 AM - 12:30 AM (Monday to Sunday).

Once there, inform the ticket office assistant about the bus number you wish to board, your zone (you can simply mention your destination), and specify the type of ticket you desire.

Pay the fare using cash or debit/credit card and get your ticket!

This is important! Make sure to look for the ticket office booth labeled NJ Transit, as there are several other ticket booths for different bus companies such as Greyhound and CoachUSA, amongst others.
